I have had a much smaller version for years and was more than pleased with how it has held up. I have made 8 double batches at one time of bread in it at Christmas time for years now. I just wanted a bigger and more powerful mixer. I gave away my older one to a niece that is wanting to learn to bake. So imagine my disappointment when I tried to use it and found that the flat beater and the wire whisk hits the side of the bowl. I have repeatedly tried the adjustments recommended in the manual that came with it to no avail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Parker’s Pride from The warranty alone is worth the price! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 2nd Pro Lines 7 quart mixer. I bough it 4 years ago and it was recently damaged in an accident. I called Kitchenaid to find out about getting it repaired. Because it was still on warranty, they replaced it! I got a brand new mixer AND 5 year warranty! I was unable to bake while waiting for replacement (arthritis in hands) and I love baking yeast bread, which requires a lot if kneading. The Kitcheaid Pro Line 7 does all the kneading I can no longer do. My bread’s texture is better than when I was able to knead by hand. I’d give 6 stars if I could!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LadySegaw from Black Beauty I am in love!! I purchased the KitchenAid Pro Line 7 Stand Mixer is Cast Iron Black. Not only is she a beauty, but she runs quiet and smooth! I can't get over how quiet she is compared to my original 1997 KitchenAid stand mixer. I know improvements have been made since then but come on, this girl is fabulous! I do a lot of baking of sourdough breads, cupcakes, cookies, and pasta and pizzas. This is a game changer for my sourdough. I have named her Black Betty! I really wanted the copper one but that color was discontinued so this was my second option and I'm not complaining at all. The cast iron look really stands out in my French cooking themed kitchen

Rated 2 out of 5 by Cmguess from Disappointing I was so excited to get this mixer. I had had one of the smaller tilt head mixers for years, and I thought this would be an upgrade. The first time I used it to knead bread dough, it got really hot and shut off. I freaked out thinking that I had just killed my new mixer. Once it cooled, it worked again, but it is just not able to knead bread dough. It consistently gets hot and shiutz off. That is why I bought it, so I am kind of annoyed by that. Also, my 25 year old tilt head mixer can do the job without any problem. So the new mixer is just a (large) ornament for the counter, and I have gone back to using the mixer I was going to replace.

Rated 1 out of 5 by KMinKittitas from Two issues 1. This mixer is good for large work. My French bread is over 4 lbs of dough, and this unit breezes through it. But if I try to make a 1 lb sandwich loaf, the dough hook almost misses the dough. 2. For the second time in the 2 years I’ve had the unit, the dough hook is stuck on the shaft. This appears to be a common enough problem that there are YouTube videos offering solutions. The issue is that if any dough gets in around the shaft, the locking stud on the shaft lacks sufficient clearance inside the attachment. I’m going to say that if the internet is offering solutions, the design needs to be addressed. Model Number: KSM7586PFP Serial Number: WX0214146

I grew up with hand mixers and they seemed to do the job and had not idea there were better options. I started watching some cooking videos on You tube a few months back and the Kitchen aid mixers were always present. Decided to pick one up and sure glad I did. Outstanding and love the dough hook as it is not necessary to kneed dough anymore. Love the wire whip to make up prefect angle food cake. I also have a Kitchen Aid slow cooker that is the best I have every had. I have been impressed with Kitchen Aid and will consider them in future purchases of major appliances.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Powerful I bought this mixer to replace my smaller Kitchenaid Artisan stand mixer. It's motor is powerful and doesn't bounce off my bench at high speed. It's a great machine however I find it difficult to put the attachments on. I have to have the bowl in place first before fitting the attachments which is annoying should I want to remove the bowl to scrape down. Also another point I don't like about it is that the beater doesn't reach the bottom of the bowl so unmixed flour etc remains stuck. I like the mixer for the power as I make a lot of dough however usability is terrible and would prefer the smaller tilt head design.

I am a pastry chef and thought that with the larger size it would be perfect for my wedding cakes that are smaller. Was I wrong. The stand is the same size as the 6 qt, and the section where the beater attaches goes right into the bowl and everything gets all over the housing. I put my 6qt bowl on the mixer and voila works just like the 6qt stand. So..... if you want to waste your money on a larger mixer buy this. Otherwise just stick to the 6 qt. this was a super waste of money and a very poor design. Liked the kitchen aid way better when it was manufactured by Hobart. They lasted longer, were work horses. These last about 18 months with daily use. My Hobart kitchen aid lasted 25 years of daily use.
