Rated 5 out of 5 by LarryJr from Great Improvement We purchased the 7 quart Flex Edge Beater to use with our KSM7586PSA 7 quart stand mixer. We have used the flex edge beater six or eight times within the first few weeks of having it. This is a great improvement over the beater that came with the mixer (no edge), both by scraping the side AND bottom of the bowl and adding more stability to the mixing - the bowl does not move as much, which also reduces the sound. Great addition, I wish this had been either part of the original purchase or an optional upgrade over the standard beater.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mimsey from No better than regular paddle Thought this would solve a number of woes, instead, made matters worse. As it beats, the butter you try to cream, or batter you mix ends up “climbing” higher up the wall of the bowl, thus creating even greater need to scrape it down! It doesn’t get to the batter at the deepest point of the bowl either! I tried both paddles, same recipe, the original paddle is better, and doesn’t fling batter out of the bowl like this one did, I figure because the batter doesn’t climb as high. I returned it! Go back to the drawing board KA.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Heidicm from Discolors icing I do love this concept, but question if it is ok to use for food. When I make icing, which is white, the plastic turns the icing gray. Makes me wonder what is in the chemical make up of the plastic and what it is leaving in the food.

I obviously can’t use it anymore for food safety reasons. Huge disappointment. I purchased mid December and used until February or March.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I rec'd this as a holiday gift, from husband, for my Professional 6QT Lift-bowl stand mixer. Just used for the 1st time this morning and it works fine however, would be a 5-star if it had the flex-edge on both sides.

Rated 2 out of 5 by jblr from not what is cracked up to be The beater makes the batter climb up the bowl rather than keeping it in the bowl and making it more necessary to stop and scrap bowl more often. It also chips and has to b e replaced very often.
