It turns off as soon as it starts boiling with very little steam filling the room. The temperature gauge is great when you require different levels of heat to either not burn or ruin that morning coffee.

Need the temp control for different teas. Only problem and it’s not a biggie, sometimes the lid sticks if I try to refill it while it’s still hot.
